Sashikala Ananth

Sashikala Ananth holds a degree in architecture from the School of Architecture, Madras University. She has researched the classical Indian science of Architecture – Vaastu, for over thirty years, and studied the original texts under the guidance of Shri. Ganapati Sthapati, one of the leading experts of Vaastu. Since that time she has been adapting the principles of the Vaastu Shastra into contemporary design. With her husband Raghu, she has been working for many years with young people, using India’s yogic practices, traditional stories and archetypes, to help them overcome the fragmentation caused by the modern world, and grow into their own power and authenticity. Several years ago they both created an ashram in the Niligiri hills in the state of Tamil Nadu for this purpose, called Ritambhara. She is also the author of The Penguin Guide to Vaastu and The Classical Indian Science of Architecture and Design.
